Project: Patapsco Greenway Exchange
Patapsco Greenway Exchange (PGE) GROUP PROJECT - FALL 2016
Connecting Patapsco Valley State Park, BWI Airport, and Baltimore - for bicyclists and pedestrians

Note: This was a large-scale semester long project that involved several meetings with Anne Arundel County and Howard County officials that culminated in a presentation my colleagues and I gave at the Anne Arundel County council chambers. The project was done in tandem with the PALS initiative.
The above map graphic was co-created by my colleage Jason Poole and I.

Process:
Met with county officials to discuss the scope of the project
Drove the length of the site taking pictures and noting existing conditions
Studied AASHTO guidelines regarding standards for bicycle paths
Divvied up path section specialization among team members (my specialization was the Halethorpe section - see below)
Divvied up applicable research regarding culture/History, environment, geomorphology, transportation, and sensory (I researched the surrounding environment)
Plotted initial paths on tracing paper using prior knowledge of the site, pictures, google maps and ArcGIS
Met with county officials mid-project to make sure that we were proceeding in the right direction
Improved our path layout based on feedback from officials
Created renderings of the finalized designs using computer software
Presented our design at the end of the semester
Submitted a booklet containing our research, designs, and suggestions for the implementation of the Patapsco Greenway Exchange.

Programs Used: ArcGIS, Google Earth, Adobe Illustrator, Adobe Photoshop, Adobe InDesign, AutoCAD
